Woman Endangers the Lives of Men as She Refuses to Get out of Her Car on a Flooded Road

It's completely understandable that people want to save their belongings during a natural disaster, but sometimes, it's just better to let go when your life is in danger.

A woman, reportedly in the port city of Barranquilla in northern Colombia, was filmed trying to save her Mazda 626 during a severe flood. Instead of getting out of harm's way, she refused to abandon her car.

Subaru BRZ vs Mazda MX-5 vs Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo in Four-Cylinder Grudge Match

In our ongoing $25k sports car poll, the Subaru BRZ has taken a clear lead with 20 percent out of more than 6,100 votes cast up until today.

Oddly enough, its Scion FR-S twin has only managed to gather 7 percent (despite being the same car), the same as the Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo, which is still enough to place both higher than the Mazda MX-5 that has secured 4 percent of your votes.

Why do mention these cars specifically? Because Road&Track magazine brought together the Subaru BRZ, Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo and the MX-5 soft-top roadster to find out which of the three ticks the most boxes for enthusiasts looking for a fun, rear-wheel drive sports car without breaking the bank.

Close Call for Motorcyclist that Almost gets Sandwiched Between Two Vehicles

A motorcyclist found himself in a very tight and dangerous spot when he foolishly tried to pass between a Mazda3 sedan and a large truck.

In the process, the biker knocked down the car's passenger mirror and instead of pulling over to apologize, he took off without looking back. The Mazda3 driver caught up him in a move that was probably unnecessary and equally foolish. Go figure….

Mazda Ute Rolls Over During Drift Attempt, Continues Like Nothing Happened

Turning a facepalm-worthy drift fail that entailed a rollover into an epic win is no mean feat, even more so if said stunt was performed in an old Mazda pickup truck.

The short clip was filmed in Clock Hill in Alexandra, New Zealand and was originally part of a DVD called "Asses of Alex 2" featuring people performing various stunts and pranks (think Kiwi-flavored Jackass), which was distributed in the country back in 2008

Video of the Day: "Idiot Drives the Nürburgring F1 Track"

There is nothing better than some self-deprecating humor to lighten things up and turn a bad situation into a shared laugh.

We will start by telling you that the title of this post comes from the person who uploaded the video on YouTube not to make fun of someone else but of himself while driving his Mazda RX-8 on a rainy day at the Nürburgring F1 track.

"Most of the time I sit in my car declaring how rubbish everybody else is," wrote YouTube user Nurburgdale. "This time I was the arsehole, the dangerous twit who didn't even realise how bad he was until he checked the memory card of the vbox... rather than hit ctrl-delete, I thought I'd upload it to others. Hey, if you can't laugh, you'll only cry!"

Mazda MX-5 Almost Crashes Into a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

Driving an exotic supercar like the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera through a parade of modded cars and an equally crazy crowd of people in a parking lot is just about as wise as taking your date to a sausage fest: someone is bound to hit on your gal.

And this is what almost happened to the owner of the white Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera when the driver of a second generation Mazda Miata wanted to show off with a little burnout that didn't go as planned just barely missing the Italian exotic.

Watch the short clip right past the jump.

Mazda CX-5 gets New Smart City Brake Support Safety System

There was a time when ABS and a couple of airbags was all a car needed to be considered safe. Today, however, things have changed radically: not only have Euro NCAP and NHTSA crash tests forced manufacturers to create much safer vehicles, but they’ve also resulted in the addition of not just passive, but active safety systems as well.

Mazda for example, had developed a new system that helps distracted drivers avoid frontal collisions at slow speeds. It's called called the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) and it will be available in the new CX-5 compact crossover.

Just a warning; if you ever happen to travel to Russia, you'd better be on the lookout for a black Mazda6 sedan with a hefty blonde passenger. A Streetcar Named Desire: Mazda MX-5 Miata with a Morning Glory [Video]

Someone just gave a new meaning to the saying that "some men see their car as an extension of their male reproductive organ while others behave as if it's a replacement for it".

Hiding somewhere between a pair of oversized balls at the rear end and the glans (see, we did our medical homework before posting this story) on the tip of the car, is a first generation Mazda MX-5 / Miata roadster.

The hows and whys behind the erection of this mobile tally whacker remain elusive, though Youtube poster, Allandiablo, says it was being filmed at the time and that it could be for an upcoming episode of Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory TV show on MTV.

Video: Was This a Dangerously Close Call or a Ballsy Move?

A minor spat has broken out on Youtube over whether or not a Lotus Exige GT3 traveling close to 250km/h [155mph] should have passed in between a Mazda MX-5 and a Porsche Boxster during the Production Sports Cars CUE Enduro Series held at the Phillip Island circuit in Victoria, Australia.

If you watch the first video shot from an inboard camera on the MX-5, it looks like a rocket ship flew by inches away from the Japanese roadster. In fact, it all happens so fast that you have to actually pause the video to see the Exige GT3 driven by Barton Mawer.

According to the Philip Island Circuit's official website, the driver in the No66 MX-5 was Michael Hall. Here's what he said on Youtube:

"I'm chasing down a Porsche Boxster in the #66 Mazda MX5 whilst trying to hang onto the lead of Class E. Meanwhile Barton Mawer is trying to hunt down Alan Simonsen in the Lambo for the overall lead, and obviously not in the mood to waste any time."

Madmen: Mazda3 Driver Tries to Break Free from Tow Truck Claw [Video]

It might not be the best of quality, but this is one crazy video with an even more insane driver. Allow us to explain. The clip shows a Mazda3 sedan as it was being picked up by a tow truck's crane – perhaps for a parking violation or something of the sort.

Nothing weird about that. Well, not until you pay closer attention and see the Japanese model's brake lights going on and off and the wheels spinning – yes, the driver is inside the car and he's trying to break free from the metal claws!

Mazda Takeri Sedan Concept Smiles for the Video Camera

This year's edition of the Tokyo Motor Show in December is gearing up to be one of the most exciting automotive events of the year as we're anticipating many important debuts including the Toyota FT-86 and Subaru BRZ twins, the new Honda CR-V and the reason why we're writing this article, the Mazda Takeri concept.

Even though Mazda's initial press release didn't disclose many details, the Takeri is believed to be a thinly disguised concept of the next generation of the Mazda6 sedan in the same way that the Minagi study previewed the CX-5 that was revealed in Frankfurt this September.

Raw Video: Driver, Beware of the Spicy Newscaster…

We can't see what reporter Alison Ariotti from Australia's Nine Network was wearing during this live TV broadcast, but the…package must have been interesting enough to distract the driver of the black Mazda CX-7 SUV who zoom-zoomed his attention from the road and on to the young lady and as a result, collided with a Mazda parked behind her.

So the lesson here folks is that if you happen to stumble upon a TV crew filming in the side of the road, please keep your eyes where they should be…

Mazda Drops New Photos and Videos of CX-5 Compact Crossover

You've already had a quick sneak peek at the brand-new Mazda CX-5, but the Japanese automaker has published a new set of photos and videos of the small SUV while testing in Europe. While most images show the CX-5 in camouflage, we do get two new press pictures including a rear shot of the vehicle.

The new CX-5 replaces the Tribute, which itself was a rebadged Ford Escape, as Mazda tries to go against the likes of the Toyota RAV4 and the VW Tiguan in the small/compact SUV market with a more appropriate and modern proposal.

Chilling Mazda MX-5 Touch and Roll Over Accident

The accident you are about to watch in the video after the break occurred during the third race of the Ma5da MX5 Mk1 Championship at the Snetterton circuit in the UK.

It all went down when the Jamie Ingram (car No.108) lost control of his Mk1 MX-5 and hit Mark Leach's blue MX-5 (car No.16), who at the time was passing on the right. Leach's car was launched into the air and then rolled over seven times before coming to halt.

Fortunately, despite the severity of the accident, Leach made it out alive but not without some injuries including a bruised lung, some whip lash, and a broken arm.

Video: A Lap of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in a Mazda MX-5 GT

The Ardennes Forest in Belgium is famous not just for the failed German offensive against the Allied forces, which signaled the beginning of the end for World War II and the fall of the Third Reich, but also for its Spa-Francorchamps circuit that is a place closely linked with Formula 1.

Spa includes one of the championship's most demanding corners, the flat-out Eau Rouge. With the F1 teams heading to Ardennes for the Belgium GP on August 26, Mazda has released a video with its race driver Mike Ticehurst guiding us through a lap behind the wheel of a 275HP MX-5 GT.

You can watch it right after the jump.

Mazda’s Legendary 787B Le-Mans Winner to Race at Goodwood

It’s been 20 years already, yet it feels like yesterday when Mazda in 1991 became the first, and to date, the only Japanese manufacturer to win the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The weapon of choice was the rotary-engine-powered 787B, which sported a carbonfibre body, an output of 700 PS and a 210 mph (338 km/h) top speed. Read more »
