G-Power Celebrates Production of 100th Hurricane with 819hp Special Edition M5

With its tuned BMWs costing as much as a family house, selling 100 examples of its flagship Hurricane models is no mean feat for a company like G-Power.

To mark the production milestone, the BMW tuning guru has introduced a special edition version of the E60-based M5 Hurricane RR that benefits from a 30-horsepower boost, which lifts the total output of the heavily-reworked and twin-supercharged 5.0-liter V10 from 789hp (800PS) to 819hp (830PS).

G-POWER-ED 2012 BMW M5 Dances to the Tune of 640-Horses

G-Power, the maker of some of the fastest and meanest tuned BMW models around, has presented its first take on the brand-new 2012 M5 sedan [F10].

At the heart of G-Power's tune is BMW's 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that normally produces 560-horsepower and a peak torque of 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) from 1,500 rpm.

After the German company's engineers update the ECU and add a new custom exhaust system, the V8's output is lifted to 640-horsepower and 777Nm (573 lb-ft).

G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RR Reaches 357km/h – 222mph on the Autobahn

It's just another day at the mother of all highways, the German Autobahn – which of course means cars reaching top speeds that in any other country around the world would probably get your buttocks thrown in jail and your car confiscated.

But not on the Autobahn where a member of the GTBoard forums took a G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RR up to a top speed of 357km/h or 222mph.

As a refresher, when G-Power introduced the BMW M5 E60-based Hurricane RR a couple years back, it claimed at the time that it was the fastest saloon in the world – we don't know if it still holds the crown today.

CLP Automotive begins with a wide body kit that adds blistered front and rear wheel arches together with matching rocker panels and bumpers, a new hood with additional vents and a central dome, plus a large fixed rear wing.
