eBay Find: 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 with Just Over 26k Miles

As popular as it was in its heydays, it has also been more than thirty years since GM ended production of the second generation Pontiac Firebird (1970 to 1981). This means low mileage and well-cared examples are getting very hard to come by, which is why this one captured our attention.

This 1970 (1/2) Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 we found on eBay has just 26,505 miles (42,646) on the odometer with the seller claiming that the car is in original condition having been "stored and cared for its entire life".

Finished in the oh-so-70s Coronado Gold exterior paint color with a Sandlewood Tan interior, the Firebird is equipped with the Formula 400 optional package that includes an array of goodies such as the 400 cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor, dual exhausts, sports suspension, dual scoop hood and more.

Kevin Morgan's Hurst Edition Pontiac Trans Am Fires Up

The death of the Pontiac brand back in 2009 gave birth to several Firebird builds based on the Chevrolet Camaro, one of the most prominent of which is the Hurst Edition Pontiac Trans Am designed by Kevin Morgan for Trans Am Depot.

Inspired by the classic Trans Am from the Smokey and the Bandit film series, the screaming chicken made its debut at the 2009 SEMA show.

YouTube user DtRockstar1 captured an example of the Trans Am firing up its tuned V8 engine at the 2012 Detroit Autorama show. You can watch the video straight after the break.

The Inspirational Archer without Arms Changes Pontiac Brakes with Feet

Matt Stutzsman is one truly gifted and talented individual whose attitude should be an inspiration to all. You see, Stutzsman was born without arms. And yet, despite all the challenges, he managed to adapt and do everything on his own using his legs and feet.

The 29-year old man from Iowa, whose birth parents gave him up for adoption when he has was just four months old because they couldn’t deal with the idea of raising a child with special needs (or so they thought), just recently qualified from the U.S. Olympic team in archery!

Pontiac Loans Heart and Body to Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Superleggera Replica

From the creators of the Murcielago LP-640 Roadster wannabe we showed you back in 2009, comes a new Lamborghini doppelganger with fresh looks but the same Pontiac Solstice underpinnings.

This time, the car is supposed to resemble a Gallardo Spyder in a Superleggera outfit. The Lambo replica is finished in the usual for this type of conversions canary yellow and while the builders ditched the scissor door solution, they did add power controlled doors and a hood, which automatically open at the touch of a button – you know, just in case some of your friends weren’t already impressed […].

VIDEO: Pontiac GTO Barks up the Wrong Tree at Houston Coffee and Cars Event

You can find one at every car event – you know, the show off type that ends up getting more attention than he bargained for. At the Houston Coffee and Cars event that took place on April 2, that special someone was the owner of a red Pontiac GTO (the Holden Monaro based model). The GTO driver tried to make a cool exit out of the corner but lost control of the Goat hopping over a curb and into a tree. No word if the killer shoe heel is a suspect for this latest mishap…. Watch the crash and the aftermath in the videos after the jump. Read more »

Man Turns Pontiac Fiero into an Amazing Replica of Lamborghini Miura!

All too often, Pontiac Fiero-based replicas are simply horrible, to say the least. But, once in a while, a truly unique build hits the internet forums like this LS3 V8-powered Lamborghini Miura wannabe. Dreamed up by the owner of Chop Top Fiero in Machesney Park, Illinios, the so-called Fiura (no need to explain that) has been carefully developed over a period of three years and it’s the mother of all replicas using Fiero underpinnings.

Part of its awesomeness is due to the fact that Archie, the man behind the project, went to enormous lengths to make it as accurate to the original as possible, but without spending a fortune.

If you have the patience to read all 19 pages of the thread on Pennock’s Fiero Forum, you’ll learn that Miura parts aren’t exactly cheap nor abundant, so Archie did a lot of fabricating and scavenged all over the internet for suitable donor parts.

Words cannot describe how mega this crash is. If you haven't seen it yet, do it...DO IT NOW. It must be seen. Even if you have seen it, check it out again. The victim was a 19-year old who was speeding, tried to pass on the left, ended up in the median...then something CRAZY happened, he got ejected from his Firebird, somehow survived, and is now in critical condition.

Knight Rider KITT Replica up for Auction on eBay

Found for sale on eBay is a reproduction -and a quite convincing one at that- of one of the biggest icons of our childhood: the Knight Industries Two Thousand, or as most of you know it, K.I.T.T.

Like the original car used in the Knight Rider series during the '80s, this here replica is based on a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am and comes with all the cosmetic bells and whistles of the TV car including the cool to look at, but far from practical, cut steering wheel and electronic displays on the dashboard that lights up like a Christmas tree.

VIDEO: 2011 Camaro-Based Pontiac Firebreather Meets the Shelby GT500

The folks from 'The Smoking Tire' decided to bid farewell to the 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible they had for this year's Bullrun by bringing on Classic Design Concepts' Pontiac Firebreather for a brief tet-a-tet.

For those unfamiliar with the Firebreather, the Pontiac Firebird-ized 2011 Camaro was originally created by Classic Design Concepts as a one off movie car for Exxodus Pictures' new sci-fi film, Jinn, but the company took the decision to build a limited series for sale to the public.
