Tuned 2013 Mustang 302 Supposedly Shows Camaro ZL1 Who's Boss

The eternal bickering between GM and Ford fans continues with a new video that shows a tuned 2013 Mustang Boss 302 taking the edge over a stock Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in a straight-line acceleration match on the road from 40mph (~65km/h).

In stock guise, the Mustang Boss 302's 5.0-liter V8 pushes out 444 ponies at 7,400 rpm and 380 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. However, the white example seen in the video is said to have been upgraded with "a JLT intake, a 3-inch Xpipe and an AED tune", without any mention on the output figures.

Shelby GT500 and Camaro ZL1 Battle it Out on the Test Track

Whichever way you crunch the numbers, the new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 owns the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 when it comes to sheer power.

According to their respective manufacturers, at the flywheel, the $54,995 Camaro ZL1's 6.2-liter supercharged V8 produces 580hp at 6,000 rpm and 556 lb.-ft. (754 Nm) at 4,200 rpm, while the $54,200 Shelby GT500's 5.8-liter supercharged V8 delivers 662hp at 6,250 rpm and 631 lb.-ft. (856Nm) at 4,000 rpm.

In a recent dyno test from Inside Line, the Camaro ZL1 delivered 497hp and 497 lb-ft (673Nm) on the rear wheels, while the Shelby GT500, 595hp and 602 lb-ft (815Nm) respectively.

So, how do these numbers translate on the road? Well, after drawing their swords on the dyno, Inside Line took the two cars to the track, and the results are both expected and to some extent, surprising.

Naturally, the more powerful Ford was faster than the Chevy recording a 0-60mph (96km/h) time of 4.0 seconds and completing the quarter mile (400m) in 11.9 seconds with an exit speed of 123.5mph (198.7 km/h).

Watch a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV Take a Plunge in a Lake…Twice!

A Chevrolet Tahoe driver watched his full-size SUV that was pulling a trailer with a boat dip into a lake not once but twice!

A bystander began filming the incident when the owner of the Tahoe was sitting on the vehicle's roof waiting for help, which arrived shortly after when another driver tossed a…ski rope and tow strap.

After connecting the rope and strap on the Chevy, the other vehicle began to haul in the Tahoe. The whole process seemed to be going well until the rope and strap broke off sending the Tahoe back into the lake for a second time.

Watch Lizzy Musi's Crash from Multiple Angles and How the Cameraman Jumped at the Last Moment

On April 20, Lizzy Musi made the news when the 21-year old drag racer and daughter of veteran racer Pat Musi lost control of her 1968 Chevrolet Camaro during the third qualifying session of Summit Racing Top Sportsman at the 2012 ADRL Spring Drags III at Bristol Dragway.

The Camaro turned sideways and went airborne before it violently crashed onto the left wall. To make a bad situation even worse, Musi's car headed towards the camera operator positioned behind the concrete wall before coming to a stop in the grass on the side of the track.

In this new video that contains footage from multiple angles, we see the crash in detail and how the camera operator literally jumped over the wall at the last moment (see 2:35" into the clip), a move that most certainly saved his life.

Amazingly, no one got hurt from the forceful accident. You can watch the video footage for yourself right past the break.

Old School 1968 Camaro SS Convertible Rocks and Rolls on a CTS-V Supercharged V8

What General Motors did to the current day Chevrolet Camaro with the presentation of the ZL1 model powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8, is very similar to what Southern California resident Bob Hall did to his Camaro, the difference being that Hall's model is from 1968.

It all began in 2009 when Hall bought a 1968 Chevy Camaro SS Convertible with the intent of performing a full restoration, but as the project evolved, he ended up creating a supercharged monster fitted with a lightly tuned 6.2-liter LSA V8 from a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V.

Chevrolet Orlando Proves it's a Man's Car, Fits 11 Canadians in its Trunk

His name is Bond, Phillipe Bond, and from what we gather, he is licensed by General Motors Canada to do just about anything to promote the Chevrolet brand's products.

After receiving a body wax from a Chevrolet Sonic, the French Canadian artist from Quebec tried something a little more intense for his second sketch. Once again, Bond was dressed in a speedo, but this time, he had to oil up and get into the trunk of a Chevrolet Orlando minivan (not offered in the States) with 11 more men.

You'll find the video right past the jump.

Chevrolet Sonic Can Wax Off Your Body Hair in a Jiffy

We've heard of cars that can put some hair on your chest (figuratively speaking) but vehicles that can literally wax off your body curls is something new to us…

Welcome to the world of French-Canadian artist Philippe Bond and his waxy and supposedly humorous stunt with Chevrolet Quebec to promote the new Sonic sub-compact.

See the painful hair removal process in the video that follows after the break.

SCOOP: 2014 Corvette C7 Captured on Camera on the Road

We know the seventh generation of GM's flagship sports car, the Corvette, is just around the corner and that it will arrive sometime in the first half of 2013, but one YouTube user had the unique opportunity to see the car up close and on the road.

The good news is that he was able to film a short clip, the bad news being that he did it with a mobile phone without turning it sideways… Nonetheless, the video is worth 30 seconds of your time.

Chevrolet Execs Talk us Through the new 2014 Impala Sedan

It’s going to be a while before the 2014 Chevrolet Impala sedan hits showrooms in North America, close to a year to be exact, so General Motors will no doubt try to find various ways to keep consumer interest high in the coming months.

For now, the Detroit automaker has prepared a short video with Jon Hahn, Impala Marketing Manager, and Russ Clark, Marketing Director for Chevrolet Performance and Mid-Size Vehicles, highlighting certain aspects of the exterior design and the interior technology found on the 10th generation Impala, as well as a second clip with the Impala's exterior and interior designers.

A Trio of 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1s Playing a V8 Tune

Three brand new 2012 Camaro ZL1 coupes parked together in the same place isn't a usual sight, even more so if they let their 580-horsepower supercharged V8 engines play a muscular tune.

The pony car…concerto took place at the Rodgers Chevrolet dealership in Woodhaven, Michigan. You can hear them in action in the video that follows right past the jump.

All-New 2014 Chevrolet Impala Leaps into the New York Auto Show

As expected, Chevrolet has pulled the wraps off its brand-new 2014 Impala sedan just hours before it makes its world premiere at the New York Auto Show. The 10th generation of Chevy’s full-size sedan carries over no parts whatsoever from the car it replaces.

It is based on a enlarged version of GM’s Epsilon II platform that also underpins the Cadillac XTS and features a McPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension and electrically-powered steering with variable assistance.

The all-new Impala sedan measures 201.3 inches (5,115 mm) long, 73 inches (1,854 mm) wide and 58.9 inches (1,496 mm) tall, and has a wheelbase of 111.7 inches (2.837 mm).

Buyers will be able to choose between a pair of four-cylinder engines and a larger displacement V6, all of which feature direct injection and are combined with six-speed automatic transmissions that send power to the front wheels.

The fours are a new 2.5-liter with 195HP and 187 lb-ft (253 Nm) of torque and a 182HP 2.4-liter unit with the eAssist “mini hybrid” system that boosts fuel economy. Topping the engine line-up is a 3.6-liter V6 with 303HP and 264 lb-ft (358Nm) of torque.
