New Short Film Highlights 2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Hatch


Mercedes-Benz tends to accompany the launch of a new model with a short film to highlight its best qualities and the latest A-Class five-door hatchback is no exception.

Together with the release of European pricing today, the brand with star issued a four-minute long film of its premium compact model that will go head to head with the also new Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series hatchbacks once deliveries begin in September.

Imported from Gotham City: Chrysler Teams up with The Dark Knight


A new marketing effort from Chrysler will see the brand's "Imported from Detroit" slogan briefly changing to "Imported from Gotham City" as part of a promotional campaign with Warner Bros. Pictures and its upcoming film, "The Dark Knight Rises".

On Friday, the automaker launched the “Imported from Gotham City” contest in which participants are asked to create an original co-branded TV spot featuring the Chrysler brand and the Dark Knight by utilizing a collection of assets, including Chrysler 300 car footage, film footage and music stems from the official trailer.

Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG V12 45th Anniversary will Make a Grown Man Cry


Centered around a tear coming from the eyes of a middle aged man behind the steering wheel, Mercedes-Benz's latest spot promotes the new limited production SL65 AMG V12 45th Anniversary.

First shown at the New York Auto Show in April, the special edition was designed to commemorate the AMG sub-brand's 45th birthday.

A Rare Buick Reatta Meeting in Los Angeles


The Buick Reatta is one of those cars with some fairly interesting details that only time will tell if it will become a collectable classic.

Presented in coupe form in 1988 with a soft-top convertible following in 1990, the Reatta was Buick's first modern-era two-seater model. Both body styles remained in production until 1991.

Unusually for a mass produced model, the Reatta was hand-built at the Reatta Craft Centre in Lansing, Michigan. Its platform was essentially a shortened version of the GM E chassis used by the Cadillac Eldorado, Oldsmobile Toronado and Buick Riviera, and was shared with the Cadillac Allante.

Mercedes-Benz Takes Refreshed G-Class Off-The-Road in New TV Spots


Although one of the oldest models on the market since it was launched...two years before Ronald Reagan came into office, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is also if not the, one of the most capable luxury off-roaders money (lots of it…) can buy these days.

And it is this quality that Mercedes-Benz wants to promote in its newest TV spots for the revised G-Wagen named "Style" and "Navigation", both of which can be viewed in the videos that follow right past the break.

Ford Crowd Sources Video of New Focus ST Street Racing in Key West


With specialized performance cars, it's always best to think out of the box when it comes to commercials.

Instead of a humdrum TV spot, Ford and its advertising agency came up with the bright idea of having X Games Rally gold medalist Tanner Foust and stunt driver Greg Tracy drive the 2013 Focus ST hot hatch one-on-one through the narrow streets of Florida's Key West.

Toyota Employs the Help of R2-D2 and C-3PO to Promote Prius Plug-in Hybrid


The Force continues to be strong with two of the most memorable robots to ever grace the silver screen, C-3PO and his plucky astromech companion, R2-D2, from the legendary Star Wars movie series.

In fact, it's so strong that Toyota used the two droids in a new commercial for its Prius Plug-in Hybrid in Japan.

Mind you, as noted on Leopaul's Blog, Toyota is not the first Japanese carmaker to employ the help of C-3PO and R2-D2 in a car advertisement as Mitsubishi had done the same for its Pajero SUV and the RVR back in 1996.

Acura Promotes 2013 ILX Compact Sedan in New Equal Parts Ads


Here's a sneak preview of Acura's new TV spots for the 2013 ILX compact sedan before they air on TV and cinemas across the country on June 4.

The Japanese automaker's marketing campaign is named "Equal Parts" and it targets the so-called Gen Y Audience, also known as the Millennial Generation or Millennials, which includes those in their 20s and 30s.

Chevrolet Teams Up with Manchester United, Becomes its Official Sponsor for the Next Five Years


General Motors has signed up its Chevrolet brand as Manchester United's Official Automotive Partner. This is Chevrolet's first global football sponsorship in the automaker's 101-year history.

For the next five years, Chevy will attach itself to Manchester United's fan base of an estimated 659 million people around the world with a growing presence in Asia and especially in China.

Kewl Volkswagen Original Parts Promotion Has Viewers Clicking on Spoof Videos


An advertisement doesn't necessarily have to be "in your face" to be effective. For example, take a look at the promotional concept that Brazilian ad agency AlmapBBDO prepared for Volkswagen's genuine auto parts.

The agency came up with the idea of placing special banners on popular video spoofs on YouTube. The ad reads, "Don’t accept imitations. Prefer original parts. Click here."

Meet the most unconventional lawyer of Austin, Texas: Adam Reposa, also known by his nickname Bulletproof.

You may have heard the name before, as Reposa was found in contempt of court in 2010 after he made "a gesture simulating masturbation" while standing before a Travis County judge in 2008.

Now, the 37-year old attorney has once again turned the spotlight on himself after releasing a supposedly humorous advertisement on YouTube.
