A 74-year-old man launched his rental 2012 BMW X5 SUV through some cable wires and into the air before literally landing onto a 2005 JagWire Jaguar XJ and a 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan in a looped parking garage in Chicago.

The man said that he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake by mistake. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but all three cars sustained at least some kind of damages.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Driver Rams Into Audi 80 Again and Again…

Who knows what goes on inside the minds of some people when they snap, crackle and pop, but whatever it is, it is better to stay as far as possible if you cherish your safety, which is something that the person filming this video did.

For some reason, the driver of a black Mercedes-Benz E-Class saloon in Latvia had a thing with a parked Audi 80 (or its owner) smashing into it several times. See what happened in the clip that follows below the break.

Scoop: 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class to Get a Brand New Face

Mercedes-Benz is buffing up its popular E-Class series for its first facelift since the W212 made its debut in 2009. Our man with the long lens scooped a camouflaged prototype of the Estate model (codenamed S212), which will sport the same styling updates as the sedan variant.

These spy shots suggest that the 2013 model year E-Class will gain a new face that does away with the quad-headlamps that have been a trademark feature of the series since the mid-1990s W210.

Instead, the refreshed model will sport single headlight units that incorporate the current E-Class' separate LED daytime running lights along with a more three-dimensional front grille and a new bumper design.

Brabus Selling 6.5 Sports Sedan Based on the W124 Mercedes-Benz E500 with Just 252km on the Odo

The W124 is if not the best, one of the best mid-size models ever to be produced by Mercedes-Benz. It's subtle yet timeless styling remains fresh today, almost 30 years after its presentation back in 1985, and let's not forget that this Mercedes became famous for being built like a tank.

There was even a performance version named 500 E from 1990 to 1993 and E500 from 1994 to 1995, which was developed in close cooperation with Porsche. In fact, Porsche actually hand built the cars at its Rossle-Bau plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany.

The E500 was powered by a specially tuned 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 322hp (326PS) at 5,700 rpm and 480Nm (354 lb-ft) at 3,900 rpm, allowing for a zero to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 260km/h (162mph).

Battle of the Wagons: MT Compares Cadillac CTS-V Against Mercedes E63 AMG Estate

It would be hard to believe a few years back, but today, Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz make two of the wackiest high-performance family cars available in the States.

We're talking about the $64,340 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon and the even pricier $94,075 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate. Though very similar in philosophy, the two cars have their differences.

The CTS-V measures 191.3-inches (4,859mm) long and offers a cargo capacity of 25.4 cu ft. It is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that's good for 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft (746Nm) of torque. A 6-speed manual delivers power to the rear wheels while the wagon tips the scales at 4,353 pounds (1,974kg).

FAB Design Cloaks the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible in a Wide Body Kit

Over the years, we've seen some pretty crude creations from Swiss tuning house FAB Design including an atrocious-looking Cadillac Escalade for a North African client.

New Mercedes-Benz SL and E-Class Hybrids Make their World Debut at the 2012 NAIAS

Launching the world’s most fuel-efficient full-size car and a brand-new groundbreaking roadster is not a bad way to draw people to your stand and that’s exactly what Mercedes-Benz did at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show with the two hybrid versions of the E-Class and the sixth generation of the SL roadster.

The diesel-powered E300 BlueTEC Hybrid returns a fuel economy of 4.2 lt/100 km on the European combined cycle (54.6mpg US). Its powertrain combines a four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with an output of 204HP and 500 Nm (368.7 lb-ft) of torque with a 20 kW (27HP) and 184.3 lb-ft (250 Nm) electric motor, and features an auto stop/start system, regenerative braking, a pure electric mode and a “sailing” function.

Since diesel models are not yet popular in the North American market, Mercedes also launched the E 400 Hybrid as well. The internal combustion unit is a 306HP and 272.9 lb-ft (370 Nm) V6 that runs on gasoline fuel, while the electric motor is the same as the E 300 BlueTec’s. The E400 Hybrid’s average fuel economy in accordance with American CAFE standards is 27 mpg (8.7 lt/100 km).

New Badass Brabus 800 E V12 is the World’s Fastest 4-Seat Convertible

Well, given Brabus’ history with the sedan and coupe variants of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, it was only a matter of time before the German tuner would give the Convertible model its acclaimed “800” treatment.

And what a treatment it is: a 6.3-liter V12 biturbo with 800 hp (hence the name) that makes this car not only the most powerful, but, with a top speed of 370 km/h (231 mph), also the fastest four-seater cabriolet in the world.
