U Spy: New Land Rover Range Rover Prototypes Filmed on the Hot Roads of Dubai

If you are not content with the spy photos of Land Rover's all-important, next generation Range Rover and would like to see the luxury SUV in action, then you'll be pleased to know that Carscoop reader Jay M. has tipped us off about a video showing two prototype models on a highway in Dubai.

The YouTube poster notes: "I saw two 2013 Range Rover prototypes driving down the Dubai Bypass Road this morning on their way from the Al Tayer Motors facility in Dubai Investment Park out to the desert for hot weather testing."

U Spy: 2013 Renault Fluence Facelift and New Dacia Logan and Sandero

Quite a day for one of our readers from Romania, Cristi H., who spotted not one, not two but four prototype models traveling together on the highway.

As Cristi rightfully pointed out to us, two of the cars are the facelifted Renault Fluence sedan while the other two are the Dacia Sandero five-door hatchback and the Logan four-door sedan.

U Spy: 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Continues Testing in Spain

While vacationing in Spain, Carscoop reader Juan J. from Colombia, stumbled upon this camouflaged prototype model.

"Last week I was travelling from Barcelona to Valencia (Spain) and a white car covered up with black camo was cruising on the highway, which I'm pretty sure is the new S-Class," Juan tells us.

And he's right; this is the next generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class limousine with the standard wheelbase.

"I noticed two big "things" that might be relevant," Juan added. "All the dashboard was digital - I mean, speedometer, tachometer, and the main center screen, and also, the engine sounded like turbo."

U Spot: Notice Anything Different About this Ferrari…GT Aperta?

Carscoop reader Jonathan Y. emailed us these pictures of a Ferrari SA Aperta with a few styling twists that he snapped in Switzerland.

Jonathan tells us that the Italian roadster looked original but featured some differences over the regular model including a 'GT Aperta' logo finished in black at the rear end of the car.

Revealed at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the standard SA Aperta is a roadster version of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano equipped with the 599 GTO coupe's more potent 6.0-liter V12 producing an output of 661hp (670PS) and a peak torque of 620Nm (457 lb-ft).

U Spy: Reader Spots Mercedes-Benz CLA Compact Sports Sedan in Dubai

We will have to wait until next year to find out how the Concept Style Coupé (CSC) will look like in final production trim on the road, but eagle-eyed Carscoop reader Omar A. was alert and ready to snap a few shots when a prototype of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA passed right by him on the busy streets of Dubai.

It is not uncommon for Mercedes-Benz to test upcoming models in the United Arab Emirates with our readers having scooped several models in the past such as the SLK roadster.

U Design: 2014 Ford Transit Connect Rendered from Patent Filings

Josh Byrnes, the Carscoop reader and independent designer that accurately predicted the shape of the new 2013 Cadillac ATS before its unveiling at this year's Detroit Motor Show, is back with another speculative rendering.

For his next project, Josh picked out the 2014 Ford Transit Connect van based on a series of allegedly official patent fillings that were leaked on the internet earlier this month (you can see those images over at Autoblog).

U Spy: 2013 Porsche Cayman and Panamera Facelift Snagged on Film

Quiet a day for future Porsche models as Carscoop reader Toldi sent in three videos showing two lightly camouflaged prototypes of the facelifted Panamera sports sedan and the all-new Cayman coupe.

We'll begin with the updated Panamera that receives a mid-life makeover for the 2013 model year. As evidenced by the cleverly placed disguise, both ends of Porsche's second best-seller after the Cayenne SUV will be redesigned to offer the Panamera a fresher look that's more in line with the new 911.

U Spy: Facelifted Porsche Panamera Prototypes Filmed at Gas Station

The countdown to the launch of the refreshed 2013 Porsche Panamera is definitely on with the Germans having entered the car's final development stages.

Carscoop reader Toldi filmed a couple of lightly disguised prototypes of the revised Panamera while exiting a gas station in a district of Stuttgart, Germany.

U Spy: Can You Guess Which Model is Hiding Under the Camouflage?

We love it when our readers fill in our email box with pictures of camouflaged prototype models that they spotted out testing on and in some cases, even off the road.

Our newest scoopster is Marco A. who nabbed these shots of a four-door sedan model draped in camo at downtown Chicago. "I don't know what car is it but maybe you guys can figure it out," Marco told us in the email.

We think we have pinned down the model, though we would not dismiss the possibility that it could be a new and perhaps never before seen version of the vehicle we believe is hiding behind the black plastic wraps.

So, how about you take a close look at the pictures Marco sent in and tell us which model you think it is.

U Imagine: Jaguar C-X16 Rendered into the F-Type Roadster

After Jaguar itself admitted the relationship between the C-X16 Coupe Concept that was displayed at last year's Frankfurt motor show and the firm's upcoming F-Type roadster, it was only a matter of time before someone put their photoshop skills to work.

In our case, that someone happens to be a Carscoop reader that goes by the alias 'Plattform' in our comments section.

U Spot: Nissan GT-R Station Wagon in Portugal

An estate model isn't something most people would normally notice, unless it rides on huge wheels, sitting very low to the ground and features the front of a Nissan GT-R R35; that's a combo bound to draw the attention of any petrolhead...

One such model rightfully caught the eye of Carscoop reader Daniel Esteves, who snapped a couple of shots and sent them over our way.

U Spy: 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Spotted in New Jersey

Carscoop reader Ken Helman was driving along the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey when he noticed a camouflaged prototype, and was quick enough to snap a few shots for us.

"Even though it is fully covered, I believe this is the new S class. This was seen on the Garden state parkway this evening following a current S Class," Ken told us.

We believe Ken is spot on as the pictures he took of the test car match our previous scoops of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class prototypes undergoing tests across Europe.

U Spot: Can You Tell What Kind of Car is Hiding Behind the Black Wraps?

A couple of weeks ago, Carscoop reader Sean McKeon sent us a picture of a mystery car being transferred on a truck full of 2012 Volkswagen Beetles in Los Angeles. As you might imagine, we were a bit tied up at the time with our Geneva Motor Show coverage and put the story on hold until today.

To get to the point, Sean asked us if we knew what type of car was hiding behind the black plastic covers:

"I saw this chrome (not silver, but blinged out chrome) thingy under wraps on this truck hauling new beetles through Baton Rouge, LA. At first I thought it was an R8, but the lights don't seem to match. Any ideas on what it might be?"

U Spy: Another Mystery Sedan Awaits to be Unraveled, What do You Think it is?

The evolution of mobile phones into a technological Swiss army knife has made capturing a picture of anything interesting you may stumble upon as easy as lifting a finger.

Nevertheless, you'll have to be very observant to seize the moment as was the case with Carscoop reader Scott M. that quickly snapped a few shots of a heavily disguised sedan model on a freeway in Southern California before it got away.

In a very similar scenario to another "U Spy" story on a sedan model about a year ago (read more here), we'll have to admit that we’re not sure what it is we're seeing here.

Sure it looks like a mid-size sedan, but what about the brand and type of model?

The heavy camo and grainy pictures don't help much, but to open the conversation that you can continue after the break, our first though went to the production version of the Lincoln MKZ Concept shown in Detroit last month.

Another Live Photo of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept

Carscoop reader Richard G. just dropped this picture of Land Rover's Range Rover Evoque Convertible into our mailbox.

This is the first time we see the British firm's study with its fabric top in the up position as both Land Rover's official images as well as the single photo of the car spotted by a Twitter user on the streets of London over the weekend, depicted the Evoque Convertible with its roof open.

U Film: New Ford Ranger Spotted in Malaysia Pulling Four Trucks from the Competition

In what looks like some sort of a publicity stunt from Ford Malaysia, Carscoop reader Hafiz Zainal filmed the brand new Ford Ranger tugging four rivaling pickup trucks including (from back to front) the previous generation of the Ranger, the Mitsubishi Triton (called L200 in Europe), the Toyota HiLux and an Isuzu D-Max.

Both Rangers had an "On Tow" sign at the front and at the back and seemed to be just riding around - obviously to pique the interest of local buyers.

...And this is the First Image of the 2013 Audi A3 Three-door Hatchback

Allow us to give a big hat tip to Carscoop reader "Fcorbs" who quickly noticed the digital rendering of the 2013 Audi A3 3-door hatchback in one of the photos of the upcoming compact model's interior released only moments ago by the German firm on the occasion of the CES in Las Vegas.

As viewed in this image, the exterior design of the third iteration of A3 hatchback keeps the basic body style of the current model adding a more distinct fascia with its key stylistic elements such as the six-point grille and headlamps borrowed directly from the RS3 sedan concept shown in Geneva last year.

U Design: 2013 Cadillac ATS Compact Sports Sedan Rendering Hits the Spot

2013 Cadillac ATS for Carscoop
While some of our readers are more handy with the camera (i.e. spy shots) others have a serious knack for designing cars like Josh Byrnes, who sent us a very well executed rendering of the upcoming 2013 Cadillac ATS, GM's first serious attempt (anyone remember the BLS?) to challenge the BMW 3-Series.

And it couldn’t come at a better time as Cadillac will reveal the new ATS in the flesh at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next Monday on January 9.

Josh stated that he designed the rendering based on the details seen on the various camouflaged prototypes as well as the single teaser picture showing the sedan model's profile.

U SPY: Is this a Prototype for the Ferrari Enzo's Replacement?

During a recent trip to Maranello to visit the Ferrari Museum, Carscoop reader Edward Chew along with a close friend spotted this heavily camouflaged Ferrari prototype (or test mule) doing the rounds on the Italian firm's Fiorano test track.

Edward tells us that he and his friend were not sure what kind of model might be hiding behind all that cladding.

If you take a closer look at the prototype in the scoop pictures, you'll see that it has an extremely low bonnet and air outlets located at the rear end of the car, which can only mean that this is a mid-engine Ferrari model.

Now, we only know of one new mid-engined supercar that Ferrari has officially confirmed, and that's the Enzo's successor.
